Ribbon Necklace

So after weeks of not posting anything I am finally back. My sewing machine hasn't been working (and still isn't) and I have just been low on ideas lately although I have been working on a few hings that I haven't been able to take pictures of. But I will try to post more often. Sorry for neglecting you my little blog.

Anyways on to my project! The thing I love about ribbon is the possibilities are endless. So I came up with his little rose ribbon necklace:

The roses were a pain to sew on. Unfortunatley two little needles will not be in use any longer. But with some string and hot glue I got them secured on.

I tied a ribbon in the back so I can wear it long

or short

(like my little model pose ;) )


So there it is. The only problem is the roses tend to go down to the middle. Any ideas so they will stay on the side?

These I got some fabric paint for and made my design then folded it. I kinda like how they turned out.








So there they are. A lot of them were just folding bows, working with buttons and adding hot glue to pins or head bands.

Never Too Many

I once again have made more hair accessories. I don't think a girl ever has enough. They were fun to make and a lot of the stuff we made are kind of similar to what you can find in the store but cheaper. But me and my friend stayed up until the wee hours making them for ourselves and others. I think it's so much fun to make things for others (and myself too of course).

We found headbands for pretty cheap at Hobby Lobby and then everything else was on sale (one of my favorite parts about Hobby Lobby) and I had plenty of ribbon at home.

So I have a little bit on how to make one of the headbands. It's really simple, hardly a tutorial. Really just hot glue, headband, ribbon and some extra thing of some sort.



I took a thin ribbon and placed it on the headband and secured it with glue folding the edges onto the other side.



Then I took a bunch of these little fabric flowers and hot glued them together. Add the flowers to the ribbon with hot glue and if you want more security place some fabric around the headband so it's not visible.



And also here are several more that we made. Let's just say that my head will not be bare for quite some time.

I wasn't lying. We did make a lot, so I'll post some more tomorrow.

Pink hair bow

Surprise another hair ribbon. Bet you never would of expected that. I made this one but didn't even think of taking pictures of the process for this one. It's a different concept from the rest of them but still pretty basic. So here's another one.

Another flower hair accesory

So here's my second tutorial. It's another hair thing... what can I say? I enjoy making these hair accessories and wearing them. I actually made this one for a little girl's birthday and it was a lot of fun.


All you need is some ribbon a few beads and some clip like a bobby pin. It's much like the last flower i did but instead with the pin that I used I kind of layered it so that it wasn't all connecting at the same vertical point on the ribbon.




Then get your sewing machine and slowly take the pin out holding in place the ribbon and place it under the sewing machine and sew it in a little bit so you have a nice bit of string keeping it together.


Now just use some hot glue to add some beads and the clip and it's ready for some hair usage!

Project: Flower Hair Accessory

So here it comes, my first project/tutorial. I'm pretty excited, it's just a simple flower hair piece and maybe half of you already make these yourself but for the other half. Oh and just a little note before we start... I'm a bit addicted to hot glue, almost all my projects include it even if it's not required.

You will need two ribbons one maybe three inches long and another about 1 inch, but you can be flexible on your length. And add a little jewel.

You start and with a pin and just stick it in the corner of the ribbon and wrap it around. My ribbon has a little bit of rough edges but it won't really matter. Just keep wrapping the pin and putting it through the edge of ribbon until you have a nice ruffles then unwind it so it forms a little flower.

Then time to go to the sewing machine(whoo!). You're going to have to remove the pin and carefully place your fingers in the same spot until you have the needle of the sewing machine placed in the ribbon and now sew a few small parts in the center. Now you have a flower. Do the same with the small flower. Now here's when my hot glue came into play. Hot glue them together and the jewel on top and wallah! you have a flower not just to attach it to a clip (with hot glue of course :))You might also have to attach the edges of the ribbon so you have a complete circle.


So there is my little flower ribbon thing, hope you enjoy. Next time I'll have another one sort of like this but more rosyish. Nothing big but fun to wear and it's such a joy to get compliments and you say "yah, I made it". Thanks for reading and have a nice day!
