For the best

A the moment as I'm sure you've noticed my posts have been lacking and infrequent. I plan to keep this blog up, but until I get some more projects worked on I will not be posting. I do hope to start up again soon though. Thanks for all, if any who read and have a nice day!

Who knew?

I just wanted to mention this because I think it's so exciting! I sew here and there making my own clothes but only just as a hobby. However someone noticed some of things I've sewn and offered me an internship under a fashion designer! I can't believe it. I never thought something I did on my free time could go to this. So far I've worked one day and I learned a lot. Definitely beats flipping burgers.
So always keep your mind open, you might just get a great opportunity.

Whoever says

that taking pictures of flowers does not make you a photographer is mistaken and I refuse to hear otherwise!

On this sort of gloomy day (well where I am anyways) I thought flowers would brighten it up :)

Have a nice day!

So it's not Alice...

But I watched this movie a couple of days ago and it was so cool. A scify remake of The Wizard of Oz. Kind of like t the Alice I was talking about a while back. Tin Man

It relates to the movie in cute little ways and it was awesome. Plus Zooey Deschenal is in it (and she's awesome!)

Ribbon Necklace

So after weeks of not posting anything I am finally back. My sewing machine hasn't been working (and still isn't) and I have just been low on ideas lately although I have been working on a few hings that I haven't been able to take pictures of. But I will try to post more often. Sorry for neglecting you my little blog.

Anyways on to my project! The thing I love about ribbon is the possibilities are endless. So I came up with his little rose ribbon necklace:

The roses were a pain to sew on. Unfortunatley two little needles will not be in use any longer. But with some string and hot glue I got them secured on.

I tied a ribbon in the back so I can wear it long

or short

(like my little model pose ;) )

So there it is. The only problem is the roses tend to go down to the middle. Any ideas so they will stay on the side?

A little dwelling

After spending countless yours bored I walked outside to explore the land that I was at. And while wandering around I thought it would be cute to make this:

How old am I again? Making little houses (which I like to believe cute little fairies dwell in)? But it was kind of fun and cute and I liked the idea of little fairy houses.

Well my sewing machine is currently not functioning properly due to it's old age (I believe it is older than me) and the fact that I think it's been used more in the past year than in the previous year. Of course it's when I have several projects waiting for me to start and an order I have to work on. Yes, an order! I made a yoga mat carrier which I hope to show you guys pictures of, but at the moment my mom took it with her on a trip before I could get a decent picture. I'm so excited! Except I haven't been able to get to it due to my sewing machine not working :/

Well anyways, have a nice week!

Sometimes I wish...

I was a grown up. Not so I could be all adultish, but to have the freedom to be a little kid. Kind of strange I know

I wish life was just a big fairytale.

I'd live in a cute little odd house

And spend my days smelling flowers

Happy Day After Earth Day!

So as we know yesterday was Earth day!

Just a little post, I haven't had anything in a while. I do have a project on the way... of course i did not think of turning it into a tutorial until afterwords, but I like and will post it as soon as I get it at a point where I can take a good picture(it's currently hanging in my closet at an odd position).
Have a great day everyone!

Stencil Fail

So you know all those cute little freezer paper stencils that look so cool? Well I decided to try it. I don't know what happened. Maybe it was the fact that I used parchment paper instead of freezer paper or that I made it too small so it wouldn't sat still or maybe it was the fact that I didn't read any instructions because I figured I could do it on my own. Anyways, whatever it was as soon as I started applying my paint... it didn't work.

I found my cute little picture

Even traced it on my parchment paper and cut.

So I don't know what went wrong. I guess I'll have to try some other time and hope for better results. But in the end it kind of smeared everywhere and I got out the good old fabric paint (which I use for non-fabric things to do) and drew my own little designs.

Not quite the same and not what I was looking for, but I kind of like it in a weird way. So there's my fail of the week :P
Night everyone

Pocket Pillow

I had this extra fabric from a bag i made a while back and wasn't really sure what to do with it. I came up with this little pillow:

Just some filling and a bit of fabric is all you need.

Cut two strip of fabric. I used 21x11 and 5x5 but whatever works for you.

First I sewed the pocket on by ironing the sides in about 1/2 an inch and pinning them

Sew one corner together without attaching to the pillow so you have a pretty little stitch. Than center the pocket so it at the top half of the fabric in the center and sew along the edges (I know such hard work!). Of course my machine decided that everything possible to go wrong was going to happen. Go figure! Can't have a simple project no :P

With that take your fabric face your two outside edges together to face each other so it will be turned inside out and sew all along the edges leaving a few inches towards the end so you can turn it outside in. Now guess what? You turn it outside in.

And fill the insides with your filling and sew that last remaining of fabric together.

And you've got a pillow!

A use for tic-tac cases

If you're like me and have a fear of bad breath you might have a few cases of these lying around. But what to do with them afterward? Throw them away? I really like flowers and decided to turn it into a little flower pot...Spur of the moment thing. And it was like a five minute project. I like it because it's no longer being thrown away and now I have a little flower pot.

So quick little idea. Hope you enjoy! Have a wonderful day :)
Bye

Earring

I really like earrings but they can get kind of expensive. So I decided to make my own.

All you need is:
Pliers (cutting or nose or maybe both)
A pack of earring with backs (available at crafts stores)
hot glue
and buttons or ribbons

Start with the back of the button and with pliers take off the bottom button section or if you have ribbon make little flowers or something(sorry no pictures). It might take a while to pry off the back with the pliers depending on the material of the button.

I didn't have my camera for the next part. But pretty much take the hot glue and glue it to the backs and you have yourself a new pair of earrings!

So there they are! Also I'd like to thank you guys. I know there aren't really many of you, but thanks for reading my blog! And the comments left are nice because well I actually know people are reading (always exciting!). I mean I know I'm no great crafter but like I said it's nice to know at least someone reads it.

So bye have a great day!

Little Rock Star Frame

My sister's birthday's coming up and I wanted to make her something kind of cool. She's really into the Hannah Montana and Rock star type deal so I came up with the picture:

For this I just used a lot of scrap material
coordinating string
and a frame
and maybe some fabric paint

I cute out he pieces and layed them out like so. I cute the bottom layer 5x7 so that I could fit it into a frame

Then with thread trying my best to match each fabric I hand sewed around. Let me just say at this moment really appreciate my helpful (and often stubborn) sewing machine. I'll try not take you for granted again. Even when you turn a 30 min project into and hour and a half one. Okay maybe I still might get a little frustrated. I wasn't really particular about the stitching being perfect just because i wanted a sort of messy feel and not all neat and perfect. then I traced over the fabric with some fabric paint.

Then finally I put it in a frame and gave it to my sister. Happy Birthday sis!

Since I was in a rush to give it to take a picture I kind of didn't get the best of takes but there it is.

Wonderland Projects

I found a lot of very cute Alice In Wonderland-like projects that I would like to share:

These cute little cookies can be found here.

This party is so adorable!

I only know how to crochet scarves but i might have to try this out!

Here's a cute little necklace!

This hairclip seems simple enough to make too!

Very wonderlandish earrings found here.

They're so cute, all these stuff I think. And is it wrong to have an Alice in Wonderland themed party as teenager? Because I so want one!

As Promised

Here are a few more:

These I got some fabric paint for and made my design then folded it. I kinda like how they turned out.

So there they are. A lot of them were just folding bows, working with buttons and adding hot glue to pins or head bands.
